Marketing Mondays: Creating Quality Content for the International Education Industry

Having content going up on your digital channels regularly is great. But are you investing in QUALITY content? This isn't important just so that you rank on Google but it's also important for your followers and the interest they express towards your school or agency. Now that we're a little bit further into 2023 we can see that there are several strategies you can use to improve the quality of your content. Here are some tips which you can use in any international education scenario:

Write with Your Audience in Mind

Are you a school representative writing to attract new agents? Or are you looking to inform parents and prospective students? The content here will NOT always be the same so you can't just create posts for one of your target audiences and not the other. Prepare your content by thinking about what they would be interested in. Write in a way that is clear, concise, and engaging.

Use Visuals

Incorporate visuals such as images, infographics, and videos to help illustrate your points and make your content more engaging. Show real students not ones from stock images. Ask them to take videos or create reels of their experience at your school. User-generated content still remains a very relevant source of data which can really help you get better and more diverse content.

Optimize for Search Engines

Use keywords and meta descriptions to optimize your content for search engines. This will help you rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). Remember that the keywords that are relevant to your direct clients i.e. students and parents are most likely not exactly the same as the ones you will use for agents. Also, take the location of your target market when doing keyword research.

Use Social Media to Promote Your Content

You've heard this before. Don't just create content for one channel. Repurpose it! Share your content on social media platforms to increase its visibility and reach. Use relevant hashtags and engage with your audience to encourage them to share your content. If you can tag the education agent you've recently collaborated with, do so. This will help with sharing and getting others involved.

Incorporate Feedback

Testimonials! How many times have we suggested these to any of the businesses we work with?! Education providers get feedback from students, parents and agents. Use that! Ask if you can record some of that feedback on video as it makes it more authentic.

By implementing these simple strategies, you're adding value to your website and social media channels. Whether you're part of a school, education agency or service provider, you're always dealing with humans, even in a B2B setup. So, make sure you don't waste time creating lots of content with little value. Less is more when it comes to content for the international education sector!
